Today’s feature in the Music Store is one of rocks legendary bands, Queen. Queen is a British rock band formed in London in1970. They originally consisted of Freddie Mercury (lead vocals, piano), Brian May (guitar, vocals), John Deacon (bass guitar), and Roger Taylor (drums, vocals). In the early 80’s, Queen was one to the biggest stadium bands in the world.

You may not know of the group but you may know of this song. Considered a one hit wonder but North American the band did have in their native Netherlands. The band was founded in 1967 by Robbie Van Leeuween but wasn’t until “Venus” hit number 1 in 1970 in the U.S that the band was recognized world wide song by Mariska Veres.
The group Bananarama did a cover of “Venus” in 1986 that some of you may remember better.

The band consists of singers Peter Dreimanis and Leah Fay, guitarist Ian Docherty, bassist Josh Warburton and drummer Danny Miles. The band released their self-titled debut on Sleepless Records (Formerly White Girl Records) on 16 October 2012.
