CGI 3D Animated Short “The Albatross” – by Joel Best, Alex Jeremy, and Alex Karonis

Enjoy this amazing CGI 3D Animated Short film…In the center of a freezing, misty lake, a struggling writer”s solitary fishing trip is disrupted by a strange creature from the bottom of a whiskey bottle.

The Albatross is a 7-minute short film, created by Joel Best, Alex Jeremy, and Alex Karonis in their final year of study at the University of Technology, Sydney.

After a successful festival circuit screening at festivals including the prestigious AACTA Awards (AFI Awards Australia), Sydney Film Festival, and Animafest Zagreb, The Albatross is ready to make it”s internet debut.

“Reaping for Dummies” – by The Reaping for Dummies Team

Here is another of the shorts that I talked about on The Pop Culture Cafe  S7 Ep 223 Stupid Level Achieved

Check out this graduation-project made by a group of five students from the 3D design and animation course at Idèfagskolen in Tønsberg Norway. The short film featured here was in production between October 2012 – July 2013. With a few tweaks here and there until the soundscape was in place. The music and sound job were completed in December by a carefully selected third party. A Sci-Fi Short Film: “Short Fuse”

If you have listened to the latest The Pop Culture Cafe podcast I talked about this short Sci-Fi short.

This story takes place in a post-apocalyptic world in the year 2160. The Earth’s atmosphere turns harsh causing occasional toxic storms and forces humans to take indoor shelter. Because of this, humans refrain from going out at all times. But a Scanvenger (Bob) still goes about his chores, searches for and collects discarded items to be reused. Until one day Bob chance upon a thrown away robot, thinking he could fix and reused it, he decided to bring it home. Follow us on this journey, as what started as a miracle turns in to a nightmare for Bob.
