Marvel Introduces Their “Runaways”

Marvel has announced the group of young actors that will make up make what they called ‘first group of young actors’ for ‘Runaways’

“Runaways’ created by Brian K. Vaughan and Adrian Alphona about a group of kids discover that their parents are part of an evil crime organization known as “The Pride“. The teenagers then band together to atone for their parents crimes. The show will be on Hulu  and as at this moment I can not find where it will premiere in Canada.

Marvel introduced the actors with a brief description of the character they will portraying.

Rhenzy Feliz

Rhenzy Feliz (“Teen Wolf,” “Casual”) as Alex Wilder is a loud-and-proud nerd. Admittedly a bit of a loner, Alex spends much of his free-time playing video games, but deep down, what he wants most is to reunite his childhood group of friends.

Lyrica Okano

Lyrica Okano (“The Affair,” “Unforgettable”) Nico Minoru–tough, intelligent, and independent–embodies teenage angst. A budding “Wiccan,” Nico’s carefully crafted goth appearance isolates her from her peers and family, but maybe what she really needs is someone to talk to.

Virginia Gardner

Virginia Gardner (“Goat,” “Little Bitches”) as Karolina Dean, model-perfect exterior with a lot going on behind her professionally whitened smile, is burdened by the lofty expectations and responsibilities put upon her by her parents. Underneath her veneer of privilege and perfection, Karolina is experiencing a newfound eagerness to explore her identity and pursue her own desires.

Ariela Barer

Ariela Barer (“New Girl,” “One Day at a Time”) as Gert Yorkes is a purple-haired, bespectacled, contemporary riot grrrl. Never passing up a moment to stand on a soapbox, Gert sometimes wields her persona as a brash social justice warrior to mask her true feelings.

Greg Sulkin

Gregg Sulkin (“Faking It,” “Don’t Hang Up,” “Anti Social”) as Chase Stein is a lacrosse-playing, high school heartthrob. While many write him off as a dumb jock, Chase exhibits flashes of untapped brilliance in engineering, not unlike his wildly successful father’s.

Allegra Acosta

Allegra Acosta (“100 Things to do Before High School,” “Just Add Magic”) as Molly Hernandez, the youngest and most innocent member of her friend group, is known for her peppy positivity and a deep yearning to belong.

“Marvel’s Runaways” is executive produced by series showrunners/writers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage (“THE O.C.,” “GOSSIP GIRL”) along with Marvel’s Head of Television, Jeph Loeb (“Marvel’s Luke Cage,” “Marvel’s Iron Fist”) and Jim Chory (“Marvel’s Daredevil,” “Marvel’s Jessica Jones.”) Fake Empire’s Lis Rowinski will produce as well.   Marvel’s Runaways is a co-production with ABC Signature Studios.

Power Rangers Trailer #1

I did not grow up watching the Power Rangers when they came on TV. I was to old and to me I laughed at the stupid stories lines and the high quality(cough) Japanese villains. I should of like it growing up watching mostly Godzilla movies. The Power Rangers have now been updated for a new generation and for those that grew up watching. So expect the violence to be two fold. Today updated means more violence.  Okay maybe cartoon violence but still…..Humans are so special.

I am sure if you grew up watching the Power Rangers this trailer and the movie will have you wetting your pants.

Guardians Official Trailer English Version

If you have not see or heard of this Russian super hero movie well where the  hell have you been?

The film takes place during the Cold War. A secret organization named “Patriot” gathers a team of Soviet superheros, alter and augment their DNA of four individuals. The final clip I have here is  duped in English but not as exciting as the original Russian.  Also in this clip it shows what I assume is the were-bear gone full bear.  The clip shows the more humor then earlier versions. I hoping that the film is released with English subtitles as I for one would be distracted by the bad English dubbing.

At times the CGI does look a little bad but if you look past this little distraction the movie looks like fun time.

The film was directed by Sarik Andreasyan and written by Andrey Gavrilov
