Netflix Original Series Marvel’s Iron Fist – I Am Danny Rand

It is only a short time before we get to see the Fourth Defender, Danny Rand.  On March 17 Netflix and Marvel will give us ‘Iron Fist’.  To help us get to know Danny Rand better Netflix released a featurette titled “I am Danny Rand” that explores his 15 year disappearance and the cold reality of what he faces on his return to New York.

I like many of you I know very little of the “Iron Fist” or of Danny Rand. I have to believe that from the work that Netflix and Marvel have done on the previous series, Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage. That this series will continue the high level of story tell will give us another hero to cheer.

Billionaire Danny Rand (Finn Jones) returns to New York City after being missing for years, trying to reconnect with his past and his family legacy. He fights against the criminal element corrupting New York City with his kung-fu mastery and ability to summon the awesome power of the fiery Iron Fist.

First Look at the Defenders

Defenders.png

That’s a pretty neat look. I’ve been looking forward to this series since the beginning of the Marvel series on Netflix. I think Sigourney Weaver is a fantastic choice as the villain and can go toe to toe with any the heroes in this series and the actors that play them. EW took the photo so they get the credit……enjoy

At this winter Television Critics Association press tour, Ted Sarandos Netflx content chief said that casting for the show is “in progress”.

Although, it may yet be some time before it or The Defenders, the last of the originally announced series, will be available for streaming. Saradanos said is “not the goal to put out more than one or two a year.” With Daredevil and Jessica Jones as the first year output, Luke Cage will likely follow the second season of Daredevil in a similar release pattern. It is unclear if Iron Fist will follow the recently announced second season of Jessica Jones or if a second or third season of Cage or Daredevil will come along first.
