Ben Affleck Stepping Down As Director of ‘The Batman”

Variety is reporting that Ben Affleck has decided to step away from the director’s chair.  Affleck will stay on as producer and star but now the hunt is on for a new directer.

Sources that are close to the Affleck and Warner Bros., said that it was a decision made by both parties.

“There are certain characters who hold a special place in the hearts of millions,” Affleck said in a statement. “Performing this role demands focus, passion and the very best performance I can give. It has become clear that I cannot do both jobs to the level they require. Together with the studio, I have decided to find a partner in a director who will collaborate with me on this massive film. I am still in this, and we are making it, but we are currently looking for a director. I remain extremely committed to this project, and look forward to bringing this to life for fans around the world.”

Is this another bad omen for Warner Bro., and DC. Awhile ago a story was leaked (true or false) that the script was bad but executives at Warner Bros did care as long as it made money over seas. That may have changed with Affleck and Geoff Johns have wrote a script for the solo “Batman” movie.

I for one will wait and see.

How about you. Is Affleck leaving the directors chair good or bad for the film.

Superhero Fight Club 2.0

This was released a bit ago but I don’t think it got the attention it warranted(Only 1.6 million views on youtube and all).A very cool 4 minute vid showcasing the stars of all 4 DC shows from this fall in a “X-men , Danger room” type scenario. Kind of a off beat promo for the cross over coming up this season……..with a twist and a special guest villain.Enjoy

‘Suicide Squad’ Kills It With $165M Int’l, $326M+ Globally — Deadline

This morning we reported that Warner Bros.’ Suicide Squad is crushing it domestically in mid-week numbers, busting through Guardians of the Galaxy‘s grosses one after another. After opening to $133.3M in 57 markets this weekend to push it past comp Deadpool, the movie based on the DC Comic has grossed an estimated $15.7M Monday with another…

Box Office: ‘Suicide Squad’ to Easily Keep Top Spot Over ‘Pete’s Dragon,’ ‘Sausage Party’ — Variety

So I went out Friday afternoon to see Suicide Squad. I was hoping that for once DC/Warner would be able to give me a movie would enjoy.

I did.

I am not a huge fan of DC comics. I read and collect very few but the one I do collect is Harley Quinn. I am please to say Magort Robbie did not disappoint me. I was really please with Jay Hernandez portray of Diabol and would love to see more of this character. I was happy with most of the cast selection, most.

I am a fan of the DC animated movies that DC produces and are fantastic.I am not going to go into a detailed review but I like the film. It was not great by any shape. But I walked out happen and entertained. If I had to pick between a Marvel movie and DC. I would pick Marvel all the way. I am a Marvel comic fan. Do not believe that I want DC to fail. No. I want DC to come out with block buster entertaining movies. I want both companies to prosper. I am a comic book fan and like you this is the best time of my life.

So yeah go and see Suicide Squad. Just enjoy yourself and lets keep these movies going.

Warner Bros.’ second weekend of “Suicide Squad” will hold off a trio of distinctly different newcomers at the U.S. box office — Disney’s “Pete’s Dragon,” Sony’s animated “Sausage Party” and Paramount’s “Florence Foster Jenkins.” Forecasts place “Suicide Squad” in the $45 million to $48 million range for its second frame, amounting to a 65% decline……
