Arrow, Catching Up, and General-ness…

Hey Poppers,

I couldn’t think of a featured image, I just read what I wrote, the part down there, that you haven’t read yet, unless you skipped ahead, but I bet you didn’t, I trust you. Anyway, that picture of 3PO and R2 in a Tim Burton movie about bad dreams before Jesus’s birthday was the best I could come up with. So good luck, and enjoy, but mostly good luck. The Batman vs Superman trailer!!

Wow, I have been so busy lately I have not been able to blog, but here I am so let’s jump right in. I got Instagram, it’s okay. And I changed my name on twitter to batteryrunheart. Because my heart is literally run by a battery. No joke, I have a pacemaker, it’s one step down from an arc reactor. No big. Also I am now a registered apprentice, becoming a Parts Technician. It’s a three year program, but I have set myself up to have my ticket by next summer. And yes, apprentice like in Star Wars, again no big.

So, also I got my wife rather pregnant, so yeah. We can now move onto four person cosplays. Yes, that is where my mind immediately goes.

Also, Whovians, if you want an idea of how overwhelming it is to find out you will be a dad again, please see the below picture.

Next I got bit by a spider! And I think it may have been radioactive.

spider bite

And lastly I have been working on my third and last book in the Fantom Fury trilogy. (cause the “tri” in “trilogy” means three, so my third, and therefore…. last….. book) So, there you have it my excuses for not being able to blog. (Please see radio style segway below… Remember I mentioned my books like one second ago?)

Yes, I met CAITY LOTZ!!!!! at EEK fest. She was super nice and she is so gorgeous. It was awesome to be face to face with Miss Sara Lance. And yes, that is a copy of my first book signed by her. It was so cool. Also I met someone else ladies and gents, he’s on the Arrow, not a huge part of the show, but certainly notable. (Please refer to picture below.)

HA! Gotcha!! It’s Stephen Amell! and he’s the main character. Get it? It was a joke when I said that he wasn’t a huge part of the show. Cause he is! Get it? Anyway, yeah I totally met him in a bathroom. Dressed as the Arrow. It was the coolest thing ever. He was really nice and I told him he was a big fan. And at his panel I asked him if he was going to use his island wig to playing Casey Jones. If you don’t know of the island wig on Arrow, it’s worth a quick google search. If you don’t know who Casey Jones is why are you reading this, seriously all the references must be going over your head. Star Wars, and yes I made that Star Wars picture in paint, Arrow,  Doctor Who, Spiderman. I mean if you’ve made it this far and didn’t get at least eighty percent of the references I applaud you, seriously. Nice job dude. And yes I call guys and girls both dude. Just so you know I wasn’t leaving anyone out. Anyway, what was I going to say? Oh yeah, even if you get every reference and you are still reading, thank you. I just go, I literally type whatever is in my head, I’m hungry, and hit publish. And if you are willing to use your precious time reading that, well that, well it just warms my heart. Thanks guys! Anyway, as we all know it has been nerd overload lately. The Batman vs Superman trailer. Oh man! I am so stoked!!!!!! Seriously it has been playing on repeat in my head since I watched it. What else, Suicide Squad, Batman vs Superman, Deadpool, um what else, oh yeah, Batman vs Superman. X Men, Batman vs Superman is worth mentioning, Star Wars is coming up, that Batman vs Superman trailer was really good. Ant-Man will be out soon, maybe they’ll play that Batman vs Superman trailer during the pre-show. I saw Terminator which I loved. The Batman vs Superman trailer. Oh! Arrow started filming. BvS. Flash is gonna be on Season Two. Dawn of Justice. Legends of Tomorrow which looks so cool, and I love that they are using Rory to travel through time. I mean what a cool thing to do, and yes I called him Rory. Because to me that’s who he is. Rory, Amy, Doctor. I guess now it’s Rip, Nebula and Skynet. Sniffle. They grow up so fast!!! Yeah, so it has been an overload, which I can handle. I mean I got that spider bite and I have a one-step-down-from-an-arc-reactor-pacemaker. Sorry for any spoilers. And sorry I mentioned that trailer, (Batman vs Superman Dawn of Justice) so many times, it’s just that, how can I put this,

Anyway, back to meeting Stephen and Caity, yeah, we’re on a first name basis, no big. They were so awesome and down to earth. No, noses in the air, no one was below them. They were both so nice, and so cool, and you know what? Whoever said don’t meet your heroes can go poop their pants!

Anyway, it’s been a slice, hit me up on IG and twitter, I follow back and I’m not quite as crazy, 140 characters and 1000 words, get it? cause a picture is worth a thousand words, and on Instagram you post pictures. Anyway, I’m allowed to make terrible jokes, I’m a dad. Puns, just for funs.

Bye bye

Oh yeah I couldn’t find a way to fit this in, but it’s so awesome so here:

K seriously bye.

Disney Eyeing Chris Pratt For Indiana Jones Revival

So Deadline is reporting that Chris Pratt is being eyed up to take over the role of Indian Jones. Chris Pratt is a hot property right this moment and this could be striking will the iron is hot kind of moment. But for the first time in a long time this is one reimagining of a property that does not piss me off one bit. Chris Pratt is a real good choice in my view. The guy is so dam likeable and has the screen presence to pull of being Indiana. The man looks like at this moment the guy to fill the fedora.

EXCLUSIVE: Here’s one from the helluva good idea department. Marvel offerings are soaring, and Star Wars  is being reinvigorated by director JJ Abrams. Now, Disney has just started to turn its attention to reviving the Indiana Indiana Jones bullwhipJones franchise after buying the rights from Paramount in 2013. I’m cautioned that while things are very early, I hear the studio has set its sights on Chris Pratt as the swashbuckling archaeologist they hope to build the new franchise around, the role made famous by Harrison Ford in Raiders Of The Lost Ark. Pratt jumped to leading-man movie status with his performance in last year’s blockbuster Guardians Of The Galaxy for Marvel and Disney. He starts The Magnificent Seven with Denzel Washington and director Antoine Fuqua in April for MGM and Sony, and there’s the inevitable Guardians Of The Galaxy sequel. Disney won’t comment and all this is admittedly early, so…

Guardians Of The Galaxy: Review

Hey Poppers

So I don’t usually do movie reviews but I went to see Guardians Of The Galaxy on Friday afternoon with my son. We were both excited like little school girls to see this film. Boy, we were not disappointed at all. Guardians was a funny, exciting action packed fun movie that fills you with all you want from a summer block buster. My son was all up for seeing Rocket and he is 16. I have to think it is ten fold for all younger kids. Rocket with all the semi foul mouth furry little craziness will be the highlight for the kids. Marvel was smart getting a PG-13 rating on this film so that they can get the younger group in to see this film. I am sure that parents with a younger kids will bring along also. Hey I would.

Okay so for all the Rocket love this film will be getting you can not forget about the living breathing actors of this film. Chris Pratt was a great as the wise cracking Peter Quill.  Chris Pratt was not the first choice or choice at all for director James Gunn but this is one of those right choice being made by accident by actor and director. We know that Chris can be funny and now we can see that he can pull off the action hero star as well. One of the best moments is at the end when Chris/Peter does something very unusual to distract Ronan. Oh the guy is in shape and I am sure the female audience will love him. Drool.

guardians-galaxyZoe Saldana is becoming the Queen of geeks. Also becoming a action star in her own right. Zoe is perfectly cast as the Gamora. Gamora is a genetically created assassin and the adopted daughter of Thanos but she has no love for her father. Zoe is only 5′ 6 1/2 in height but you can not tell me she has the look  of a woman that can kick a person ass.  Zoe Saldana shows Gamora’s hard shell as well as the soft inside of someone that can not stand by as billions are killed.

article-2661053-1EE017D500000578-324_634x440The third humanoid of the groups of misfits is Drax the Destroyer is played by Dave Bautista. Many of you may know Dave from his WWE days (not sure if he is still wrestling) but he has been making some films. This is his first real big movie and he does a great job. I remember watching Dave in his wrestling days and as Drax he is playing almost the same character. Big, strong and with one goal, killing Ronan. Some have called Bautsita the lone weak link in the film but I disagree. Dave portrays Drax  exactly as Drax is. A man set with one goal and not one for small talk. I mean come on and you tell me that you can not see anyone else playing Drax. Just look at that picture. This man was born to play Drax.

guardians-of-the-galaxy-dave-bautista-drax The two remaining characters of our loving group of misfits is Rocket(Bradley Cooper) and Groot(Vin Diesel). Oh what a loveable pair these to make. Bradley Cooper does a excellent job of bring the CGI hoodlum to life. The only thing missing was the ‘Blam Murder” when Rocket killed anyone. But hey that wouldn’t go over well with the kids. Little Betty running in and shouting, ‘Blam Murder’ to her mom. Funny, yeah.

Groot was good also. Well how can he not be. A totally CGI character that can take any direction. Voice by Vin Diesel acts just as well as Vin. Okay just shittin you. No not really. RocketRaccoonGroodConceptTestGuardians_gallery_primary_home_top_story

Over all this is a great movie and shows that with a minor property Marvel can create a movie that any nerd/geek/dweeb will love to see. Oh I know there will be haters. Fuck is there not a comic to movie adaption that does not please some sloth of a geek. Man just watch and enjoy and shut the fuck up. Sorry to much of my ranting.

So I say give this movie your money and have a great time.

On the geek scale 5/5. Yeah I said it.

Oh as Groot would say, “I am Groot”. Nuff said.

Karen Gillan Joins “Guardians Of The Galaxy”

karen_gillan_open_hair_style Word out fantasy land, Hollywood is that Karen Gillan has join the cast of the upcoming screen adaptation of the comic The Guardians of the Galaxy.

Gillan will play the lead female villain in the story, according to the Hollywood Reporter. No other details were giving out at this time so keep a eye out for more news to come. Your guess is as good as mine on what character she will be playing. Someone for the current story or someone new.

Karen Gillan is best known for her role as Amy Pond on Doctor Who. Karen will be joining others already cast for the movie, Glenn Close, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana and Dave Bautista
