Variety is reporting that Ben Affleck has decided to step away from the director’s chair. Affleck will stay on as producer and star but now the hunt is on for a new directer.
Sources that are close to the Affleck and Warner Bros., said that it was a decision made by both parties.
“There are certain characters who hold a special place in the hearts of millions,” Affleck said in a statement. “Performing this role demands focus, passion and the very best performance I can give. It has become clear that I cannot do both jobs to the level they require. Together with the studio, I have decided to find a partner in a director who will collaborate with me on this massive film. I am still in this, and we are making it, but we are currently looking for a director. I remain extremely committed to this project, and look forward to bringing this to life for fans around the world.”
Is this another bad omen for Warner Bro., and DC. Awhile ago a story was leaked (true or false) that the script was bad but executives at Warner Bros did care as long as it made money over seas. That may have changed with Affleck and Geoff Johns have wrote a script for the solo “Batman” movie.
I for one will wait and see.
How about you. Is Affleck leaving the directors chair good or bad for the film.
If you look closely at the blurry image above you will see that beside the large R are the words, Some Disturbing Violence. Interesting is it not?
DC has success with R-rated material especially with the commercial success of the Killing Joke that they will attempt it again. This time around with Justice League Dark. The interesting part for me personally is that Matt Ryan the actor from the TV series Constantine is providing the voice for Constantine in the film. Jason O’Mara will return to voice Batman, Tomb Raider mo-cap actress Camilla Luddington will voice Zatanna, Nicholas Turturro will voice Deadman, Ray Chase will voice Jason Blood/Etrigan, Jerry O’Connell will return to voice Superman, and Rosario Dawson will return as the voice Wonder Woman.
DC animation does have a excellent track record with their animated films and I don’t expect that to change with this feature.
What do you think? Does DC have another hit on their hands?

So I went out Friday afternoon to see Suicide Squad. I was hoping that for once DC/Warner would be able to give me a movie would enjoy.
I am not a huge fan of DC comics. I read and collect very few but the one I do collect is Harley Quinn. I am please to say Magort Robbie did not disappoint me. I was really please with Jay Hernandez portray of Diabol and would love to see more of this character. I was happy with most of the cast selection, most.
I am a fan of the DC animated movies that DC produces and are fantastic.I am not going to go into a detailed review but I like the film. It was not great by any shape. But I walked out happen and entertained. If I had to pick between a Marvel movie and DC. I would pick Marvel all the way. I am a Marvel comic fan. Do not believe that I want DC to fail. No. I want DC to come out with block buster entertaining movies. I want both companies to prosper. I am a comic book fan and like you this is the best time of my life.
So yeah go and see Suicide Squad. Just enjoy yourself and lets keep these movies going.
