The Flash – Season #3 – Episode – 19 Trailer

Just watched Episode 18 of the Flash and now we’re on a 4 week hiatus until the next new episode on Apr.25th.That seems a long time to let this storyline simmer in my opinion. I’ve been hot and cold on this season so far, and I’m not sure if this long hiatus is going to give me time to find better shows or make me miss the Flash Gang.

WB dropped this new trailer before they left, and I’m pretty sure they just spilled a major secret that they have been teasing fans with all season. Unless of course it is just a Red Herring. Still, if you don’t want  any clues to the identity of Savitar you should probably NOT watch the attached trailer and stop reading right now…..Thanks for the visit………………………………………………………………………………..Still there?…….last chance. Okay, on with the trailer.

Well, basically this trailer keeps teasing who Savitar is with a few  cryptic statements from Cisco and Killer Frost and the appearance of a rather Emoish looking Barry Allen. “Your from before she dies, aren’t you?” dropped a few hints for me who Savitar is….but again, could be a Red Herring.

Guess we’ll find out on Apr.25th

Marvel – Spider-man: Homecoming – Trailer

I know this is going to be a good movie. Everything I have seen so far tells me this is going to be a good movie. It’s got a funny Spider-man…….it’s got Michael Keaton……..it’s got Iron Man AND Robert Downey JR.It’s got a pretty decent looking version of a villain not yet seen before(I don’t count the shot of the wings in that OTHER movie.).I think i’m just Spider Manned out. It’s that simple.

Having said that, let’s take a look at this new trailer with as unfiltered an eye as we can muster……….. Okay, I’m back. I think that Michael Keaton and Robert Downey Jr are either going to make or break this movie. The new kid (Tom Holland , who I have to admit looks the part better then any of the other folks who played Spider-man before him)seems to have some decent acting  chops, but I think his interpersonal relationship with Tony Stark and his Antagonist/Protagonist back and forth with the Vulture(Michael Keaton) will make or break this movie. I mean, let’s be honest, we’ve all seen Spider-man swing through the city a thousand times on film by now. This film has to have more in the way of interpersonal relationships for it to be a hit.

Michael Keaton was a great choice to cast as the Vulture. Fitting also since we was Spider-mans first real “Supervillan” way back in Amazing Spider-man #2 .I know, I know , I left out the Chameleon, but I meant someone who went “toe to toe” with Spider-man. Wouldn’t it be a mark- out moment if Vulture examined his wings and said in a Dark voice” Steel wings…..different, but not alien to me”.

This movie will make a tonne of money. It just will. I just hope some of it’s merit is based on quality and not just on history. Movie drops July.7th. 2nd Trailer below.

Actual Old Man Logan

The people over at The Warp Zone gives us their newest parody and it is old man Logan. Wolverine takes on Father Time and finds him to be one of toughest opponents.  Logan is trapped in a old folks home and spends his time trying to escape. Loving tapioca pudding and talking about the old days.

It’s a fun short and I got a few giggles watching it. I hope you like it also.

Finally The ‘Wolverine’ We Always Wanted

If you are to believe to all the reviews that have been out so far from the critics, Logan is finally the movie we have waiting for.  Logan won’t be out until March 3, 2017 but with the advance reviews Logan is presently holding a 96% score at Rotten Tomatoes.

In the near future, a weary Logan cares for an ailing Professor X in a hide out on the Mexican border. But Logan’s attempts to hide from the world and his legacy are up-ended when a young mutant arrives, being pursued by dark forces.

The film has been compared to a contemporary western. The film has been given a R-rating, thanks to Deadpool that showed a superhero movie with a R-rating can make a money and be a hit. The film is tracking to make $60 million on it’s opening weekend. According to Jackman this will be his final appearance as Wolverine a character that he has portrayed since he originated in 2000’s X-Men. There has been some rumors coming out that Hugh Jackman is having a hard time letting go of Logan. True or not it be nice to see him do it one more time. Hey Ryan think you can get him out for a quicky in ‘Deadpool 2’.

You can check to reviews here Variety and Heroic Hollywood

Logan also stars along with Jackman, Sir Patrick Stewart, Dafne Deen, Stephen Merchant, Richard E. Grant, Eriq LaSalle, Elizabeth Rodriguez.

Legion -FX – Episode 1- Not really a review, review

legion-fx-x-men-tv-mutant-marvel-comics

Before I sat down to watch this, I knew it was going to be a bit of a mind trip.  It was “broken” legion from the comics after all. I have to admit I had not read the solo series Marvel released so my POV on Legion was a bit dated.

My litmus test for this series was actually going to be my wife’s reaction as we watched it. She’s a casual “comic movie fan” and if she could get on board with what I suspected was going to be a psychedelic episode I knew FOX could go somewhere with this.To be completely honest I can think of about 40 different characters that they could have done a series with, and Legion wasn’t on that list.

Within the first 5 minutes I heard “This is doing nothing for me so far” as the delusions of a fractured psyche played out across the screen in front of us. Then something happened. Dan Stevens begin to act….and it got better from there.

If anything can make this series a success I suspect the acting chops of Dan Brown and Rachel Keller can help with that. I feel terrible saying “acting chops” there, as both of them have extensive professional training with names like “Carnegie” and “Cambridge” attached to it, and I made them sound like street carnie. For the record , there is an excellent little dance number in the episode that I thought showed a range of these actors right out of the gate.

The story itself had a nice pace to it and I did do a little internal fist bump when the name “mutant” was talked about with a fear I had not felt since the 80,s-90’s.They gave me enough to be interested ,but not too much to think they hot shotted the storyline which is become rarer and rarer in todays TV universe. I’m going to watch the first 8 episodes(full season) for sure and go from there.

Trailer is below and the series airs Wednesdays on FX.

Marvel Introduces Their “Runaways”

Marvel has announced the group of young actors that will make up make what they called ‘first group of young actors’ for ‘Runaways’

“Runaways’ created by Brian K. Vaughan and Adrian Alphona about a group of kids discover that their parents are part of an evil crime organization known as “The Pride“. The teenagers then band together to atone for their parents crimes. The show will be on Hulu  and as at this moment I can not find where it will premiere in Canada.

Marvel introduced the actors with a brief description of the character they will portraying.

Rhenzy Feliz

Rhenzy Feliz (“Teen Wolf,” “Casual”) as Alex Wilder is a loud-and-proud nerd. Admittedly a bit of a loner, Alex spends much of his free-time playing video games, but deep down, what he wants most is to reunite his childhood group of friends.

Lyrica Okano

Lyrica Okano (“The Affair,” “Unforgettable”) Nico Minoru–tough, intelligent, and independent–embodies teenage angst. A budding “Wiccan,” Nico’s carefully crafted goth appearance isolates her from her peers and family, but maybe what she really needs is someone to talk to.

Virginia Gardner

Virginia Gardner (“Goat,” “Little Bitches”) as Karolina Dean, model-perfect exterior with a lot going on behind her professionally whitened smile, is burdened by the lofty expectations and responsibilities put upon her by her parents. Underneath her veneer of privilege and perfection, Karolina is experiencing a newfound eagerness to explore her identity and pursue her own desires.

Ariela Barer

Ariela Barer (“New Girl,” “One Day at a Time”) as Gert Yorkes is a purple-haired, bespectacled, contemporary riot grrrl. Never passing up a moment to stand on a soapbox, Gert sometimes wields her persona as a brash social justice warrior to mask her true feelings.

Greg Sulkin

Gregg Sulkin (“Faking It,” “Don’t Hang Up,” “Anti Social”) as Chase Stein is a lacrosse-playing, high school heartthrob. While many write him off as a dumb jock, Chase exhibits flashes of untapped brilliance in engineering, not unlike his wildly successful father’s.

Allegra Acosta

Allegra Acosta (“100 Things to do Before High School,” “Just Add Magic”) as Molly Hernandez, the youngest and most innocent member of her friend group, is known for her peppy positivity and a deep yearning to belong.

“Marvel’s Runaways” is executive produced by series showrunners/writers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage (“THE O.C.,” “GOSSIP GIRL”) along with Marvel’s Head of Television, Jeph Loeb (“Marvel’s Luke Cage,” “Marvel’s Iron Fist”) and Jim Chory (“Marvel’s Daredevil,” “Marvel’s Jessica Jones.”) Fake Empire’s Lis Rowinski will produce as well.   Marvel’s Runaways is a co-production with ABC Signature Studios.
