Hey Poppers,

I read Dark Shaman two, and here is my review… rhyming is slick.

Now I hadn’t read the first Dark Shaman, so I went in with an open mind. Now, as always Zenescope gave us our catch up. So, after reading that I dove right in. The first few pages of the comic really caught my eye. The layout was incredible, and added to the entire story. The closest thing I can relate this comic to would be The Walking Dead graphic novels. A horror tale of adventure.

Another thing I really enjoyed about this comic was the cut scenes. I really like when the use of cut scenes add to dramatic moments in comics.

For the second installment in a four part story, this comic clipped along nicely, it didn’t drag like the middle of stories tend to sometimes. Now, not to spoil too much, but it ends on a cliffhanger, which since Dukes of Hazzard has always been a good call.

Another thing I found was that this comic did a lot with a little. By that I mean without one hundred million characters in twenty thousand locations the comic stayed fresh and interesting. Like a sprout sandwich…. that might punch you in the face.

Now all that being said, I found the basic idea really really cool, witchy supernatural elements mixed with horror. I stayed invested in the story from start to finish and am excited for stories three and four.

Now if you are a fan of supernatural elements and/or horror, I suggest picking up a copy.

I’m giving this comic four pops out of five.

A smart use of horror that stays intriguing from start to finish.

Remember, comics are to be enjoyed not destroyed.
