The Trailer Park: Automata Official Trailer #1 (2014) – Antonio Banderas Sci-Fi Movie HD

Welcome back to The Trailer Park

“Jacq Vaucan, an insurance agent of ROC robotics corporation, routinely investigates the case of manipulating a robot. What he discovers will have profound consequences for the future of humanity.”

From director Gabe Ibanez and writers Gabe Ibanez, Igor Legarreta and Javier Sanchez comes Automata

At the end of this trailer you may get the feeling that is one Sci-Fi movie that will have a message at the end. I think you be right. It would be nice to see a Sci-Fi movie that did not wholly relies on explosions and gun play. The trailer of course shows you that there is some but the main focus is on the story.  Finally something a little different from the regular sequels or reboots from Hollywood.

Movie Monday: LEGO DC Justice League of America vs the Injustice League

Hey Poppers

So how is it going? Once again I bring you a Small Bear Film, Lego DC Justice League of America VS The Injustice League. This is another one of a line of short Lego films from Paul Sayer. You can check out some his earlier work here. Paul does this by himself just using the equipment he has handy and does a fine job.

So take a few minutes and enjoy.

J.W. Coughlan transmitting from ignorant bliss: The following message is available in described video.

Hi there, here again to blog for my buddy John, but isn’t John the blogger? I should be spray painting faces on the walls, and faking my death. Spoiler alert. I know, that yellow face, you never see it coming. AnyWHO today I wanna talk about a little show I’m FINALLY watching called Doctor Who. But before I get into it, I wanna give you guys and gals a little rundown on myself. You may have read my blogs on here before, and yes I am a nerd. But, I am also a writer. I really love writing and so I wrote a novella. It’s about superheroes and it’s called Fantom Fury: The Curse. It is the first instalment of three. Here is the link if you wanna check it out.

Well thanks for allowing me to plug myself…. That’s what Tobias Funke said?

Sorry, so sorry.

I don’t need to say it, but I’m going to. This show is stupendous. It is wonderful. It is amazing. My parents are Trekkies, not Whovians, so growing up, I was never exposed to the incredibility that is The Doctor. I have a friend WHO is a Whovian and we made a pact. The Doctor, for Potter. He watched all eight Harry Potter movies (cause he had only read the books, which as a Potterhead I find very very strange, but kind of awesome) and I agreed to 20 hours of Doctor Who. Now I’m past the twenty hour mark, and there is no stopping this TARDIS.

The best part of watching Doctor Who after the fact is getting to see actors from all your other favourites along the way. Parlay examplah:

From LIFE: One of the finest nerds ever, Simon Pegg. From Sherlock: Dear brother Mycroft From Spiderman: Andrew Garfeild, who didn’t even get to be British on a British show. It was set in New York, so obviously he was from….. Tennessee! From Harry Potter: Moaning Myrtle and Mr Weasley. And this other guy…. He’s in a few episodes, Barty Crouch Jr. Remember him in Doctor Who? From the Star Wars we all try to forget: Episode One Padme Body Guard Guy. From Game of Thrones: Jojen Reed and Jorah From Black Books: Fran From Arrow: Malcolm Merlyn…. Again, like Barty Crouch Junior not a huge part of Doctor Who *wink*

And too many more to name. I’ll take this time once again to thank the UK for providing such a rich nerd life.

So I started with Nine, and he was pretty cool. I liked how he would be a little dark and “quiet” at the beginning of episodes and by the end was screaming at whichever alien was causing trouble.

I really like Ten, at first, I missed Nine, and I was always wondering what this new guy was freaking out about. But he’s actually really cool. When Ten is all over the place with his arm motioning and crazy facial expressions, I feel like I’m watching a play.

Now I’m not sitting on my couch, converse shoes kicked up, in a TARDIS shirt, topped off with a bow tie, while wearing a fez, with a brown trench coat keeping me warm, and old style 3-D glasses on my face as I drink from my Allons-y mug, all the timey wimey keeping one eye on the window for Daleks or empty children. But, I wish I was.

Maybe one day I will have all that, when I am a seasoned Whovian. I feel like The Doctor would make some sort of human salt content joke here.

(Try to say this in David Tennant’s voice)

“Ah! Seasoned Whovian enh? The human body contains many salts you know? Of which sodium chloride (table salt) is the major one, making up around mmmm, 0.4 per cent of the body’s weight at a concentration pretty well equivalent to that in Earth’s seawater. So, if we have a 50 kilogram human, that old chap would contain around 200 grams of sodium chloride – or – 40 teaspoons. Since we lose salt whenever we sweat during activities like, I dunno, let’s say, running, it has to be continually replaced. And that’s why you should watch me in my adventures, to stay nice and seasoned.”

Steven Moffat, if you end up using this, please send cheque or money order to J.W. Coughlan via the internet. Or, publish and endorse my book, then have The Doctor find it in an upcoming episode, and always have it sitting in the background in the TARDIS so it can be seen by Whovians every week on the BBC. Thanks, I appreciate it.

I read a great quote about DW, and I’d like to share it. But before I do, I would like to point out that so much of nerd life, (laser guns, capes and magic wands aside), really does show us being brave can be scary, but helping people is what makes life such a beautiful adventure. So now, straight from the brain of a mass murder, a beautiful quote, by Steven Moffat.

DW Quote

In case you don’t have Ten’s glasses handy this says:

“When they made this particular hero, they didn’t give him a gun, they gave him a screwdriver to fix things. They didn’t give him a tank or a warship or an X-Wing fighter, they gave him a call box from which you can call for help. And they didn’t give him a superpower or pointy ears or a heat ray. They gave him two hearts. And that’s an extraordinary thing. There will never come a time when we don’t need a hero like the Doctor.” – Steven Moffat

Now, I wasn’t a Whovian a few short months ago. And I thought, oh those people are nuts. But guess what? They are! Plus, if you join them, and they find out, they get even crazier. Now I’m not that far along yet, but I can see the last little wisp of sanity I have left slipping through my fingers. AND I COULDN’T BE HAPPIER ABOUT IT! INTERNET YELLING! Anyway, what else can I really say about this show that has been said? TARDIS, sonic screwdriver, just The Doctor, run, Nine Ten Eleven.

Maybe, I’ll try and sum up the show in a few words, no, that’s not challenging enough, I could say… space time adventure. Plus, I want to convey a feeling here, not just what the show is about. An awesome alien with two hearts who travels around the universe helping people. What are we, what is he, what is the companion? What is one word that would sum up what we as a fandom are for having this show, what the companion is for being chosen. What The Doctor is for surviving the time war and getting to brighten peoples lives with his awesome-ness…..

Let me think about that as I say goodbye. Yeah so, bye.

Before I go I just wanna tell you – you were fantastic… absolutely fantastic… and d’you know what? So was I. *wink*

Is this dragging on, maybe not, maybe I’m just stalling to buy myself a little time. A TARDIS would be nice, then I’d have all the time. except for fixed points and all that jazz. Doot doot doot. K seriously, I’m going to go, ergh, I thought of a word, but I feel like it’s going to be disappointing. Maybe it fits for us, but not the Doctor and companions. Oh well, it’s not like it’s going to be in an episode. Unless Uncle Steve there endorses my book, am I right people? K, now I’m rambling. I bid you all a good day or evening, whenever you reading this- should I make one more time joke or has that cow been milked dry? Alright. Thanks again and I will blog again soon.
