agents-of-shield-official-poster-small So boy and girls Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.  has drop in the rating for the second week in a row. Is there reason to be concerned or is there still time for it to pick up speed.

I have been watching since the start and as the show has progressed through the first part of the season. Let’s say that the first half will end when the Christmas season starts. Will there be a up swing or will the show continue to slip. Like many of you I watch the first show and like most new shows is was just introduction to cast and gave us a idea of the what things we could be seeing in the coming season. I was not really impressed with first show. Now before you get all upset I did like it but after watching TV for some 46 years(I am not counting the first 5yrs) I have see a shit load of TV and now a days it takes a lot to impress me. I was not surprised by the car flying at the end.

As the weeks went by I was less and less in a hurry to watch the show. Each episode was just nothing special. No real surprise, some small ones. Coulson telling one character that sometimes we can’t safe you all, was a nice touch. A bit of realism. The episode “Fzzt” was the first time I was genuinely felt involved with what was going on. Clark Gregg as Agent Phil Coulson talking to the fireman, sitting with him, being there for the man know he was going to die was great. It showed that for all the superhuman aspects of the Marvel universe that people still die.

That is what this show needs, the real feeling that someone is going to die. Up until the last moment I felt that Jemma, played by Elizabeth Henstridge was going to die. If they go back to the regular set up of freak of the week with no real danger to the main characters then it will just become a Saturday morning cartoon to me. Yes I know to some I am speaking blaspheme but with show like Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead and others there is some amazing TV out there. Yeah some shit also. Joss Whedon has the reputation of killing off characters to move the story along. I want that to continue. As much as I hate it when it happens it give the shows so much more realism.

Lastly I hope that Disney gives A.O.S time to grow, a second season to find it’s path. Let’s hope so because a small snow ball of failure could become a huge ball and we will lose our chance to see our comic heroes disappear from the small and big screen.
