Willard Penn is a struggling comic book creator that has finally had the big score. The story of his superhero with a libido problem that he is more concern with then fighting crime. On the night of getting news that his book has become a over night sensation, Willard comes face to face with his creation. Willard’s creation, Dark Hour refuses to return to the book until Willard helps him find the perfect woman. Also the books homicidal villain has also crossed over. Surprise!
I have to say this is a interesting idea and I can not remember seeing anything like this before. I sure the idea is not new and has been done before but I don’t remember it. The story by Glen Brunswick is simple and not hard to read. Hey don’t get me wrong there is nothing wrong with that. I don’t think there is any deep hidden meaning in this book and that is cool. The art by Victor Bogdanovic is not amazing but is not awful buy a long shot. Hey I have seen some bad stuff out there and Mr Bogdanovic is not one of them. The said thing to say here is that I don’t see this book lasting long if it meant to be a series book. If it is only a short arc of a few books I believe it would be best.
So if you want a nice easy light read then pick this one up.
I give “Reality Check” 3 out of 5
